Central Street Infant And Nursery School

In Reception we have a busy, creative environment, which enables each child to explore through play based learning. One of our central aims is to foster a sense of awe and wonder and develop children's natural curiosity about their world.    We use a topic based approach to teaching and learning both indoors and outside.  Our themes for this half-term are Fairtrade and African Lands and Animals. The children will be finding out where our food comes from and how we can support farmers and producers by buying fairtrade products. They will be making tie-dye bunting for a fairtrade display. Our cross-curricular work on Handa's Surprise and Dear Zoo will give us lots of opportunties for artwork, writing and calculating. We are very excited about our trip to Chester Zoo and raising money to support an endangered species. We will be displaying our learning at our class assembly on 28th March. All parents are welcome!
